Making Good Choices
Every DAEP student will be empowered to make appropriate choices within a respected, protected and safe environment. In every student there is a strength. We must draw out of each child their personal best.

Objectives

  • Teach the student self-discipline, cooperation, and responsibility in order to become productive members of society.
  • Encourage students to experience personal success
  • Provide group counseling in areas of drug/alcohol, anger management, personal conflict, and career development.

Education

The curriculum strives to fill-in the academic gaps experienced by our students which are closely connected to their behavior problems.
  • Learning Style Assessments
  • Personal/Group Counseling
  • Life Skills Training
  • Computer Assisted Instruction

Discipline Approach

DAEP follows the rules and guidelines of the Respect and Protect Program which states that there will be no form of violence or disrespect tolerated. We intend to heighten the level of self-esteem of each and every student while preserving the student's dignity.

Level System

Designed to track the development of students' social skills. Points may be earned through good behavior, participation in community service, and parent involvement.
