Rural Summer Feeding Program:
In addition to the Summer Food Program, VISD will offer the Rural Summer Feeding Program at Aloe Elementary for a second year, providing free breakfast and lunch to all children ages 18 and under.
The Rural Summer Feeding Program will begin May 30, 2024, and meals will be distributed every Monday and Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. On Mondays, children will receive meals for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and on Thursdays, meals will be provided for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Parents/guardians can sign up for the Rural Summer Feeding program onsite or by calling the Child Nutrition Office at 361.788.9235. The student(s) do not have to attend a VISD school; however, proof of student(s) age is required or the child must be with you during pick up. Valid forms are student ID or birth certificate, or current report card.
Each family will receive a "dashboard placard" for faster meal pickup in future distributions.
VISD is committed to ensuring that students and families across the district receive essential nutritional support, especially given that over 65% of the student population is economically disadvantaged.
For questions or additional information, please call the Child Nutrition office at 361-788-9235 or visit the 2024 Summer Feeding Program page.
