Victoria ISD is proud to announce the winners of the districtwide 30-Day Attendance Challenge, which launched this spring to encourage consistent student attendance and highlight the positive impact of showing up every day.
After a month of creative campus initiatives and community support, three schools have earned top honors for achieving the highest growth in attendance:
Elementary School Winner: Dudley Elementary
Middle School Winner: STEM Middle School
High School Winner: VISD Success Academy
These campuses led the way with the most significant attendance improvements during the challenge period, a testament to the dedication of students, staff, and families working together to prioritize learning.
“We’re incredibly proud of the efforts made by every campus,” said Dawn Maroney, Executive Director of Student, Parent, and Community Services. “From themed attendance days to parent partnerships and student incentives, campuses across VISD leaned into this challenge—and the results showed. While these three schools had the highest growth, many others also saw meaningful gains that we want to celebrate.”
The district’s 30-Day Attendance Challenge began on March 31 and was designed to promote the long-term benefits of regular attendance, such as academic achievement, stronger peer relationships, and improved life outcomes.
Even though the 30-Day Challenge has wrapped up, the focus on consistent attendance remains. Families can help by continuing to prioritize daily attendance through the final days of school.
